Not A Saint
Counting other people's sins doesn't make you a saint. You're not a saint if you sin less. You're not a saint if you don't commit adultery You're not a saint if you have a title at your church and know everyone by name. You're not a saint if you don't see anyone calling you out on your sin. You're not a saint if your children are in the church. You're not a saint if you feed the homeless. You're not a saint if you spent all of your savings on the less fortunate. You're not a saint if you can log sixty hours or more a week in the church. You're not even a saint if you go on a sixty day fast in a twenty-four hour prayer group.
You're a saint when God calls you and washes you clean by the blood of Jesus Christ. Nothing else can make you a saint; and once you are a saint, you are not sinless. The difference between a sinner and a saint is that a sinner sins and continues on. A saint is conscious of sin and knows the law of the Lord. You are not a saint if you stop sinning, you're a saint when you strive for God under the grace and mercy of the blood of Christ. It's not about titles, hours, numbers, events, or anything of the sort.
Romans 6:23 says, "for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." It is a free gift, that means that you cannot earn it. The only thing that our work has bought us was death. We have to stop trying to work out way towards salvation and realize that our sainthood, our brotherhood with Christ, is strictly a free gift from Him to us that we could never live up to. So before you judge someone on their sins and on their behavior remember that God is the only one who's judgment matters, and He will ask you why you were trying to be the final judge, as if you were so high and mighty. Let us continue being saints, helping one another, and remembering our place in perspective with Christ.
